PRESS CLUB MUNICH: THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION &#8211; ADVANTAGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE CITIZEN<br \/>\nThe new law to further strengthen civic engagement was passed in the Bundestag in July this year and passed the Bundesrat on 21 September 2007. According to this, founders will have considerable tax advantages in the future and will be able to take advantage of further benefits within the framework of their own foundation.<br \/>\nWhat solutions to acute problems does the charitable foundation offer the community? How can citizens themselves experience high benefits through the foundation and at the same time contribute to the common good? What aspects need to be considered when investing assets within the foundation? How are the current tax opportunities provided by the new law to be assessed? What gives citizens more room for manoeuvre and enables them to exert greater influence on social developments?<br \/>\nThese and other interesting questions will be discussed and answered by the speakers using case studies, among other things. Some of the most important changes for foundations at a glance: 1.) The special expenses deduction for contributions to the basic assets of charitable foundations is increased to one million euros (2 million euros for married couples) and now also applies to additional donations after the first year of establishment. 2.) The maximum limit for the deduction of donations increases to a uniform 20 percent of the total amount of income 3.) The taxation limit for the economic activities of non-profit corporations is raised from 30,678 euros to 35,000 euros of income per year.
